Terms of Use

Last updated: November 7, 2026

Interim version. WhySet is in private testing. A lawyer has not reviewed this page yet, and one will before public launch. Some features described here are still being built. If we make a change that materially affects you, we'll email you before it takes effect.

These terms are an agreement between you and Bit Developers, LLC, doing business as Bit Ghost Security ("we" or "us"), for using WhySet at whysetai.com and its subdomains. By logging in or submitting a concern, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use WhySet. Our End User License Agreement and Privacy Policy also apply.

What WhySet is

WhySet is building an open library of content that teaches AI models the reasoning behind better behavior. You submit a concern, software generates content from it, a person reviews that content, and approved content is published. WhySet is an early preview. Features may change, pause or end, and we don't promise that a concern will be accepted, processed by a given time, or published.

Who can use it

You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract. If you use WhySet for an organization, you confirm that you can accept these terms for it.

Your account

Your email address is your username, and we send a one-time code to it each time you log in. Use an address you control, keep that mailbox secure, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens in your account unless it happens through no fault of yours.

Your concerns

You keep ownership of what you write. So that we can run WhySet, you give us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to store, read and process your concern, including with AI models; to create summaries and other content based on it; and to publish, share and license those summaries and that content to anyone. We won't publish your original text or put it in training data, as our Privacy Policy explains. If your account or concern is deleted, this license ends for the original text, but continues for content already based on it.

You confirm that you have the right to submit your concern and that it doesn't break the law or anyone's rights. Please leave out names, employers, health details and anything else that identifies someone.

You won't be paid for a concern, and you don't gain ownership of the content generated from it.

WhySet isn't a way to report an emergency, a crime or a safety incident. Nobody monitors submissions in real time. If someone is in danger, contact your local emergency services.

Rules for using WhySet

You agree not to:

We may decline or remove any submission and may limit, suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service at risk. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you why.

Published content and research

Published content is generated by AI and reviewed by a person, but it may still be wrong, incomplete or unsuitable for your purpose. It isn't legal, medical, financial or other professional advice. Unless it is marked as tested, a test hasn't checked its effect on any model.

Each release will state the license it is offered under. Until a license is stated, you may read the content, but you don't have other rights to it.

Research reports describe particular tests with limited data. A good result isn't proof that a model is aligned or safe, and we don't guarantee that training on WhySet content will have any particular effect. You are responsible for how you test and use anything you train.

Fees

WhySet is free at the moment. We plan to offer paid bulk membership later. We won't charge you unless you have separately agreed to clear prices and payment terms.

Our rights

We and our licensors own the site, its software, and the WhySet and Bit Ghost Security names and branding. These terms only give you the rights they state. If you send us suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything.

If you think something on WhySet infringes your copyright, email hello@whysetai.com with your contact details, the work, where it appears, and why you believe it infringes. We'll review it promptly.

Ending your use

You can stop using WhySet at any time and can delete your account from your account page. We may end the service or your access. If we close the whole service, we'll try to give you reasonable notice. Parts of these terms that are meant to continue, including the license for content already based on your concern and the sections below, still apply afterward.

Disclaimer

TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WHYSET AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T PROMISE THAT WHYSET WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR SECURE.

Limit on liability

TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO WHYSET IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF $50 OR WHAT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

These limits don't apply to liability that can't legally be limited, such as for fraud, gross negligence or intentional harm. Some places don't allow some of these limits, so they may not apply to you, and you may have other rights under the law where you live.

Responsibility for your misuse

To the extent the law allows, if someone brings a claim against us because you broke these terms or the law, you'll cover our reasonable resulting costs. This doesn't apply to the extent that we caused the problem.

Disputes

Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any problem. California law governs these terms, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Except where the law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere, any court case must be brought in the state or federal courts in Orange County, California. These terms don't require arbitration, don't waive class actions, and don't remove consumer rights that the law where you live says can't be waived.

California users: under California Civil Code section 1789.3, you may contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services, California Department of Consumer Affairs, 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or call 1-800-952-5210. WhySet is currently free of charge.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms and will post any change here with a new date. If a change materially affects you, we'll email you before it takes effect. If you continue using WhySet after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, stop using WhySet and delete your account.

Other details

These terms, the End User License Agreement and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about WhySet. If part of them can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later. You can't transfer these terms without our agreement. We may transfer them if WhySet or our business is sold or reorganized.
